This painting was inspired after viewing a male friend's collection of vintage "catfight" photos from the 50's. Far different from the crass violent girl fight videos popular on YouTube these days, the catfights of the 50's were photographed as two hired, giggling curvy models posed with strategically lifted skirts showing hints of silky garters or brief glimpses of lacy bras. I liked how the photos prompt the imagination to fill in the gaps rather than let it all spill out right there on the cold hard concrete. Medium: enamel on wood.
The lines and action of Cat fight make me want to grow breasts and all the other feminine cures needed to participate in not a fight, but this act of love.
