A Different Kind of Star

This is my tarot card version of The Star. I've very slowly been working on creating my own tarot deck and began with one of my favorite cards in the Major Arcana. I took a few liberties with the traditional symbolism, but the basic meaning is the same. Medium: ink, watercolor on antique paper.

Recently, I had my cards read, for the first time, by a friend who used a new deck of cards she loves. I didn't know much about them other than being fascinated by the artwork on so many decks I've seen (in books and the net) and wanting to learn more about connections beyond words...because of personal ESP experience and other reasons.

She talked to me at length about herself and answered questions, not knowing (or did she *wink*? that I would ask for a reading. Incredible experience and one I look forward to again. My studio beckons or I look around more!
