When Worlds Collide - Part TOO

These images are screen shots from a short experimental film created one night by filmmaker, director, actor, and musician David Donihue. Filming images from several of my sketchbooks, we sat up until the wee hours playing around with this project, working until we could keep our eyes open no longer. Medium: Sketchbooks, a beat up digital video camera, Charles Shaw wine (shudder), Final Cut Pro.

There's nothing I enjoy more than collaborating on projects and paintings with other artists. I'd invite a few artists over to my art studio, serve wine and snacks, and then we'd all start painting. After about 20 minutes, we'd stop, switch paintings, and keep going around and round until someone yelled stop. Not only was it fun, we'd learn all sorts of new techniques from each other and were always surprised at the unexpected outcome. It's a good way to practice letting go of attachment - you spend 20 minutes painting something you really like only to see it partially covered up by the next artist.
