Public pools usually aren't my thing, but it was a pleasant late afternoon in Vegas and I thought sitting by the hotel's ridiculous Disneyland fantasy pool would be relaxing. After about 15 minutes of meditative bliss, I became aware of a shadow hovering over me and cracked open an eye to surveil the situation. Lo and behold, it was a Speedo-wearing round fleshy pink man about to sit down across from me. I noticed he fell asleep after about 10 minutes, so I took advantage of the situation and sketched him. Medium: Conte crayon on paper while at pool, acrylic and gouache back at the studio, a little digital color added after scanning.

Wow! Bill O'Rielly wears a speedo?

What was up with his thigh? I have always hated speedos and buttfloss.

That's his knee. I know, hard to see, but he had his leg spread with his knee bent and he was all compact and round so it looks a little strange.

I love the variety of color selections you use to depict skin.

That's one of the the saddest, lumpiest looking speedo I've seen. Not that there's really ever a fabulous speedo. Okay, I'm sure one exists hypothetically. Let's get some scientists on this, and some funding. Come on, people!

Ok, his knee is hiding under his calf ....

or something like that. Honestly, I think I was more focused on his skin color and face and thus, ignored making his knee look right.

I am mesmerized by those nipples. I can't stop staring at them. Is that wrong?

I'm impressed with your ability to sketch lumpy sleeping people, since they don't make clean (or human) shapes a lot of the time. this reminds me of a deflated balloon.
