Have you ever hugged a purely platonic friend goodbye and while doing so, suddenly and inexplicably felt a shimmering glimmer of energy rise from your depths and seep into areas long neglected and then as soon as you felt it, you pulled away and said, "Well, I guess I better go or else I'll be late - see ya later." If so, perhaps you'll appreciate this painting. Medium: Acrylic, oil pastel on paper, digital color..

Sensible shoes clattering purposefully up the hill, the first of many. White cotton blouse, and effervescent citrus in my nostrils. You laugh, but your eyes laugh louder. The sun does some sort of flattering dance with the curls in your dark hair and even though you’re turned away from the noonday sun your eyes flash like amber in firelight. One bead of perspiration traverses the right side of your face, starting at the hairline and working its way down your temple. Gravity pulls it further downward; it caresses your cheekbone until, impatient with its procrastination, I trace the tip of my left index finger to intercept it. You laugh again, this time a low chuckle as I smile back, running the finger across my lips absently. Citrus on my lips. Sun in my eyes. Your dark eyes suddenly grow mysterious, like storm clouds pulsing along the skyline. Dialogue exchanges between us, largely pictures in your head almost as entrancing as the ones you point out on the pad. Another laugh, goodbye.
Close enough. On second thought, no.

Over the phone, to a little younger, yet unmet, business aquaintance: Exchange of greetings, and how are yous? Well, that caught me off guard because today was, simply, a sigh. Oh, baby, she replied, sweetly, tenderly. Did you judst call me baby, I said, considerably brightened. Oh yes, nervous giggles.. It's ok , I said. You have completely made my day.

You have completely captured a moment that is so difficult to express in words. I am blown away by the beauty and dualism of the painting. Honestly one of the most beautiful paintings I have ever viewed. Thanks for sharing.

the colors feel supernatural...wow.. words fail me, it's just so intensely uplifting-- like the fact that you would feel inspired to record this, it reminds me of all those times I've shaken off feelings that actually do have meaning.
