ALl the attention of Jack is on the jack...intense ad muscular...I'd better go and wail on my pecks

One generator ran up the lab wall, and it lit a small corner of the cathedral-like room with pulsations of purple and white. A large glass tank--threaded and spiderwebbed with tubes, gears, dials, and pipes--spit back those hues at the wall as something stirred inside.

The Alchemist stared intently at the tank, pulled a lever attached to its side, and began to drain it. Amneotic fluid shifted and surged against the interior of the enclosure while the form within twirled and kicked spasmodically in the clear liquid. Soon the enclosure was sufficiently bereft of fluid, and its slumped and unguent-slicked occupant huddled on the smooth tank floor.

The Shape, displaying all outward signs of human definition, rose. Purple and white illumination etched the heretofore-submerged man in stark relief. The Alchemist beamed with pride as the light played on the moistened skin and contoured features of The Shape. This being could hardly be more beautiful, The Alchemist noted while scrawling notes on a worn piece of sepia parchment.

The Shape turned his head downward to avoid the white lights that pried away the darkness, forlornly averting the scrutiny of his surrogate father.

The Alchemist smiled with paternal gentleness, raising a white sheet to his now-shivering son/creation. "Welcome to this ugly, unjust world, Jack," he said with soothing authority as the cloth encircled the starkly defined and shuddering man in the tank. "We'll try to keep you happy and uncorrupted."

I like that shadow and light thing going on. Very cool.
